A lot has happened in the few months since the last UARM transmission.
A failed land grab attempt of -A- controlled space by Libitas Fidelitas was the catalyst for some of the most violent and bloody battles in the history of New Eden. And now...through the smoke, dying embers and bodies of our fallen enemies floating through the vacuum of space the political landscape has changed dramatically.
The combined fleets of -A- , U'K and other members of the Southern Coalition massed an armada of ships and set forth with the purging of CVA and its holder alliances from Providence. The walls of the fortress Providence crumbled and allowed U'K to retake Unity Station, realising the completion of one of the core goals of the Alliance.
For UARM this campaign has been a clear reminder of why this corporation has existed for over 5 years. Our disciplined soldiers have been carrying out their orders with dedication. Unwavering in their continued support of U'K and iron willed in the face of death.
The recent acquisition of space in Providence has allowed UARM to show off its logistical ability and we now operate a critical part of the U'K jump bridge chain from Catch to Providence. Thanks go out to Forlorn Wongraven (2IC) for almost single handily setting this up.
The corporations T1 hull production program has flourished in no small part to the handwork of a select group of pilots who have set about hauling essential minerals to our production centre and the ongoing dedication of Maurok Ortega to continue building these hulls at a staggering rate..
The following pilots deserve a special mention for their role in maintaining our stockpile of minerals designed for the afore mentioned program: Foksieloy, Dillon Arklight, Kozmic, Drunkenstein
Recruitment is continuing at a steady pace and our recruitment officer (Maurok Ortega) is doing a fine job of recruiting not only qualified pilots but also pilots who stand the best chance of integrating into UARM. If you think you have what it takes to join out ranks contact Maurok in game via eve-mail or visit our recruitment forum
Ok, clearly I lied in my last transmission. I don't have that much more time after all :P
However, today must be a lucky day for me. I have time!
So, first things first! UARM turned six years old today! \o/ I don't have the official information in front of me at the moment, but UARM has to be one of the oldest corporations in New Eden. Congratulations to us! \o/ :)
What else... Since the last update UARM has been steadily settling even further into the tribal family of Ushra'Khan. In particular our PVP record has been improving steadily. We still have room to improve, as does everyone, but we are at least heading in the right direction.
Sometime during September Ushra'Khan settled two constellations in Catch, and now have a rather comfortable sov level 3 in most of the systems therein, which houses an efficient jump bridge network and industrial POS networks. Every corporation within U'K is benefitting greatly from having access to a relatively decent chunk of 0.0 space, and our internal, organic growth clearly shows a more attractive alliance from the outside in. It seems the star systems of New Eden are housing more freedom fighters than we had ever imagined possible.
However, we've put recruitment on hold for the time being. Over the past few months UARM's ranks have swelled faster than ever before. We feel that we need to slow this down a little so as to make sure we both retain our recruits and that they get the training and assistance they require to prosper as much as possible. If they prosper, we all prosper. We have also decided that when we do start recruiting again, we will be increasing our minimum SP requirement to at least 10 million SP. Previously this was a modest 4 million. We feel that we are in more of a position to be somewhat picky about who we recruit.
During the past 5 months, UARM also picked up its first Super Capital. A Hel class mothership. Congratulations to us! \o/ We hope to be acquiring a second, a Nyx class mothership, very soon.
Two new Directors have been appointed this month. Cassini Huygens and Tyzone are increasing our board to 7 directors. This was done primarly to decrease our 'indians' to 'chiefs' ratio. Both UK and US timezone coverage has increased considerably and this needed to be covered by increased human resources in management.
Cassini Huygens has been with UARM for well over 2 years now and has always been a dedicated, team player.. It was way past time for him to receive this promotion. The choice was a no-brainer for the entire board.
Tyzone has proved himself to be one of our fastest growing pilots of late. His dedication towards UARM is evident in his efforts to assist me at every turn. As such, he was also a natural choice.
Moving forward, UARM's more imminent goals are to further set ourselves above the rest as a permanent member of Ushra'Khan. We wish to really step up our contribution to alliance goals. Additionally we plan to resume recruitment, with an eye to recruiting accomplished combat pilots and FCs, and to prove to the Universe that there is a very good reason UARM has survived, intact, for 6 years.
It's been a long time since I last updated this site. RL (Dare I mention it!) has been rather hectic and as such my additional duties (such as updating this site) have taken a back burner, a far back burner. However, I believe that I have some additional time now in which I intend to use to keep uarm.co.uk running at full steam.
To commemorate this we have installed a new banner up there (points up) which we hope is a vast improvement on the previous. I loved the previous banner, but with the changing of the skins and other graphics within Eve, we were left with no choice but to 'modernise'. So there you have it. I feel that it has the dual effect of celebrating our membership with Ushra'Khan. Oh, and while I am on the subject, much thanks to Shiru Tyrus for the application of his artistic skills in this way. Top notch mate.
To recap the past few months: we've been settling in with our new brothers and sisters in Ushra'Khan rather well. I can honestly say that there hasn't been an affiliation within UARM's broad and illustrious history that is a better fit than U'K. We feel genuinely at home fighting the good fight alongside our fellow freedom fighters and I would like to think that the feeling is definitely mutual.
Since becoming fulltime serving members we've seen lots of action, of all varieties. Most of our enemies, current and past, are fully aware that our particular expertise: small gang skirmish warfare and other guerilla tactics, have been the staple of UARM pilots since our days with Interdiction, but we've been exposed to much more. POS warfare, Sniper Battleship fleets, Remote Repping Battleship fleets and our accustomed recon and stealth bomber squads are tearing up the killboards, and as CEO I can honestly profess my proudness at our recent accomplishments. I hope for much more of the same in the future.
